There is a very important consideration to be made when designing masters to be cast in resin from RTV molds: you must avoid designing holes that go all the way through the master. Such holes would lock the master into the mold during the casting process. This applies to masters produced by any means.
The easy fix to this problem is to design the master with thin walls covering the holes. These walls will prevent resin from entering the holes and can easily be removed from the finished resin copy. |
